It's better to order 1 HD receiver (without order other regular for other rooms) so that you can order HD package from Direct TV, DISH TV, or HD from Verizon fiber optic line if you decide to buy another HD set or get another free HDTV from Verizon special offer during Chrismas season 2007. 12/16/07
It's our first order for HDTV service from cable. After calling on a deal on RCN internet site for 3 free month services, the one time charge is HDTV cable box (14.95) & HDTV cable wire ($25.00). The cable installer came on time and hooked up to HDTV with a short time. The HDTV converter box is cost $9.95 per month. Our previous monthly cable & internet & phone cost is around 135 - 139 per month. After upgrading to HDTV our new bill (internet, phone, cable) is around 175. We cancel the service is not on HDTV problem but the problem with our phone service. The phone technicians claimed that the inside phone line is a problem. I noticed last time that the phone technician is trying to fix the line outside after his testing equipment pick up the same noise as inside and when back to my inside home with the same claim on my inside home line. After separating the phone service to Vonage, the HDTV service to Direct TV, and the internet service to RCN, we didn't have a single issue with anyone except when the service is down due to weather or internet down. The downside on RCN service after bankruptcy is the policy on deposit on equipment and return the equipment policy. You need go to local RCN office before a certain date by RCN or you will get charge for the equipment. We didn't have to pay for repair because there are none. RCN is responded to repair the equipment if it is defected. We don'tget sale pitch on buying repair service on lease equipments like Direct TV. There are no Vietnamese channels in HD format during this time (1/15/06 - 12/08/06). There is no contract agreement like Direct TV.Disclaimer: The service could be change.
